Is Femipro Safe? Side Effects, Medicine Interactions and Who Should Skip It
Femipro is meant for healthy adults 18 and over, one capsule a day. Two ingredients need care. Berberine can raise blood levels of some prescription medicines, and bearberry has a traditional short-course limit. Ask a pharmacist before the first capsule if you take any prescription. Pregnant or nursing mothers should ask a physician first.

Read the label first, then the price.
Femipro is one capsule a day with a 60-day guarantee. If your pharmacist is happy with the panel, the checkout shows the live price.

- Who it is for: healthy adults aged 18 and over. Not for under-18s.
- Ask a physician first: pregnant or nursing mothers, and anyone with a known medical condition. The label says so.
- Berberine: inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein. It raised ciclosporin exposure by 19% in a small human study.
- Bearberry: excreted largely as hydroquinone. About 65% of an arbutin dose was recovered that way. The label prints no duration limit.
- Not vegetarian or vegan: the shell is gelatin.
- Adverse events: this desk has received none for the current stock. That is its own limited record, not a safety finding.
Femipro is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no dietary supplement is. It is not a treatment for any infection. This page is general information, not medical advice. Your doctor or pharmacist knows your medicines, so ask them before you start.
Is Femipro safe for most healthy adults?
The label directs one capsule daily and says not to exceed the recommended dose. It carries no stimulants, no caffeine, no added vitamins and no minerals. The other ingredients are gelatin, brown rice flour, magnesium stearate, olive oil and silicon dioxide, which are common capsule materials.
That is not the same as a safety study. No safety trial of the finished capsule exists. We can say what is known about the ingredients, and we can name the two that call for care. Safety also depends on you: your medicines, your health, and whether you are pregnant or nursing.
The U.S. rules matter here. The FDA does not have the authority to approve dietary supplements before they are marketed. A supplement can reach a shelf without review. That is why the label's caution panel and your pharmacist matter more than a badge.
Does berberine in Femipro interact with medicines?
Berberine is the main reason a pharmacist's opinion is worth getting. It inhibits two systems the body uses to clear many drugs, CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein. When they are inhibited, blood levels of some medicines can rise. A comprehensive pharmacokinetic review says that use together with metformin, ciclosporin and digoxin may cause important interactions.
The human data is small but real. In a study of healthy volunteers, berberine taken at 0.3 g twice daily raised ciclosporin exposure by 19%. The study was small, 12 people across two arms. A 2025 crossover trial found a dose-dependent interaction between metformin and goldenseal, a plant that contains berberine. That is supportive by analogy only, since goldenseal is not isolated berberine hydrochloride.
| If you take | Why it matters | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ciclosporin or another transplant medicine | Directly studied. Berberine raised exposure by 19%. | Do not start without your transplant team's agreement. |
| Metformin or another glucose-lowering drug | A berberine-containing plant showed a dose-dependent interaction, and berberine also lowers blood glucose on its own. | Raise it with whoever manages your diabetes first. |
| A statin | Most statins are cleared through CYP3A4. | Ask a pharmacist. It is a two-minute conversation. |
| Digoxin | Named in the review as a possible interaction. It has a narrow safe range. | Do not start without asking the prescriber. |
| A blood thinner | NCCIH notes conflicting evidence on cranberry and warfarin. | Mention both cranberry and berberine. |
| Any other prescription | CYP3A4 handles a large share of medicines. This list cannot be complete. | Take the bottle to a pharmacy counter. |
How much berberine is in a capsule? The amount is not published. It sits inside the 350 mg herbal blend with three other ingredients. Please do not read "probably small" as "safe for me". The FDA warns that medicine and supplement combinations can be dangerous.
What is the caution on bearberry?
Bearberry leaf contains arbutin. The body converts it, and it leaves in urine largely as hydroquinone. In a crossover study of 16 healthy volunteers, about 65% of an arbutin dose was recovered as hydroquinone equivalents, with wide variation between people.
A published risk assessment found ordinary short-term doses well within limits. Two points sit beside it. All three authors worked for a bearberry product manufacturer, and the assessment covers short-term use only. Traditional guidance caps bearberry courses at short periods. The Femipro label prints no duration limit, and the 6-bottle pack covers 180 days. Nobody has assessed that pattern. We are not saying it is unsafe. We are saying you should know.
People with reduced kidney function should take that question to a clinician.
What side effects can happen?
| Effect | How common | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Mild stomach upset in the first week | The commonest effect reported for capsules of this type | Take it with food. Stop if it lasts past a week. |
| Loose stools | Plausible from the probiotic blend or berberine | Usually settles. If not, stop. |
| Darker urine | Berberine is a strong yellow pigment | Not a worry on its own. Blood in the urine is different and needs a clinician. |
| Nausea | Sometimes reported with berberine products | Take with a full meal. Stop if it continues. |
| Lower blood sugar than usual | Berberine lowers glucose | Matters most if you treat diabetes. Tell whoever manages it. |
| Allergic reaction | Rare, possible with any botanical | Stop at once. Seek urgent care for swelling, a spreading rash or trouble breathing. |
This desk has received no adverse-event reports for the current stock. That is a statement about its own limited order book. It should not be read as a safety finding.
Who should not take Femipro?
- Anyone under 18.
- Pregnant or nursing mothers, and anyone trying to conceive. Ask a physician first, as the label says.
- Anyone with a known medical condition, until a physician has agreed.
- Vegetarians and vegans.
- Anyone on ciclosporin, metformin, a statin, digoxin or any narrow-window medicine, until a pharmacist has seen the panel.
- Anyone with an infection right now who hopes the capsule will clear it.
Can you take Femipro every day?
Yes, that is how the label directs it: 1 capsule daily. A bottle holds 30 capsules. Do not double up after a missed day. Take the next capsule at the usual time. Taking two does not double a benefit that has not been shown, and it does double your exposure to berberine and bearberry.
Store it in a cool, dry place away from children. Skip the bathroom cabinet above a shower, because warmth and damp are hard on live cultures. Do not use the bottle if the safety seal is damaged or missing.
When should you call a doctor instead?
Burning that is getting worse, fever, shivering, pain in the back or flank, nausea or vomiting with urinary symptoms, or blood in the urine. These can point to an infection that has reached a kidney. No dietary supplement treats that. Contact a clinician the same day, and tell them what you take.
Frequently asked questions
Is Femipro safe?
It is meant for healthy adults 18 and over at one capsule a day. Berberine and bearberry call for care, and no safety trial of the finished capsule exists. Ask a pharmacist if you take any prescription medicine.
What are the side effects of Femipro?
Mild stomach upset, loose stools, darker urine or nausea are plausible. Stop and seek urgent care for swelling, a spreading rash or trouble breathing.
Can I take Femipro daily?
Yes. The label says adults take 1 capsule daily with 6-8 oz of water, or as a healthcare professional directs. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Can I take Femipro with metformin or a statin?
Ask a pharmacist first. Berberine inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein and also lowers blood glucose, so metformin, statins, ciclosporin and digoxin need a professional check.
Is Femipro safe in pregnancy?
The label directs pregnant or nursing mothers to consult a physician before use. No safety data for the finished product in pregnancy is published.
Is Femipro vegetarian?
No. The capsule shell is gelatin, which comes from animal collagen, so it is neither vegetarian nor vegan, despite the seal that ships with it.
Our view
For a healthy adult who takes no prescription medicine, one capsule a day carries no obvious red flag in what the label and the ingredient record show. That is a low bar, and we want to be careful not to oversell it. There is no safety trial of the finished product. Two ingredients carry real cautions. The amounts are hidden.
The people who should think hardest are the ones on regular medicines. A two-minute chat with a pharmacist is the best safety step on this page. Take the bottle or a photo of the panel with you.
If something feels wrong, stop and call a clinician. The guarantee exists so that stopping costs you little.

If a pharmacist has seen the panel, here is the order page.
Check the cautions above, and then read the live price and guarantee terms at checkout. Stopping is always allowed.
